Milan, Italy - A second racing driver who starred in the hit Formula One film Rush has been killed in a car accident.
Mauro Pane, 50, was found dead in his Renault Megane with an unidentified woman, after it spun off the road and plunged into a canal near Milan, Italy.
FATAL CRASH
In Rush, Italian Pane was the double of actor Daniel Bruhl, who played Niki Lauda, and shot several of the racing scenes showing Lauda’s rivalry with Britain’s James Hunt.
The fatal crash comes four months after British driver Sean Edwards was killed in a motor-racing accident in Brisbane, Australia. In Rush, Edwards played his own father, one of the drivers who pulled Lauda from his burning Ferrari after a crash at the 1976 German Grand Prix.
