Durban police arrested an apparently drunk driver who drove into oncoming traffic in a cycling lane after a car chase from Kings Park Stadium to Durban North on Thursday.

Metro police spokesman Eugene Msomi said officers saw a motorist driving in the cycle lane in Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) Avenue “without any lights on, the wrong way into oncoming traffic in the vicinity of Kings Park Stadium”.

The motorist drove off and police gave chase. The man lost control of the car and it overturned. He was arrested. – The Mercury
