Land Rover drivers have the worst record for speeding, according to insurance industry statistics in the UK.
One in four of those who take to the wheel in the firm's Discovery 4x4 have penalty points for exceeding the limit. And a fifth of Range Rover Sport HSE owners have a speeding record.
The two luxury 'Chelsea Tractors' head the league table of cars whose owners have been fined for breaking the limit in the past five years.
Range Rover Sport drivers are also most likely to speed on a motorway and are in the top seven for using a cell phone at the wheel.
The motoring rogues' gallery was compiled by motor insurer Confused.com from four million driver records submitted in the second half of last year.
Audi S3 drivers are the worst offenders for jumping red traffic lights and those with a souped-up Peugeot 106 GTi are most often prosecuted for careless driving. -Daily Mail

People driving powerful big cars are more likely to be reckless drivers than , say a guy driving a Chana Benni. Firstly, it is fun to drive, secondly because it is big everybody clears out of your way and you start feeling like a king. Dunno whether to hate the Lany owners or to envy them though i would hate someone who drive so badly as to endanger other people's lives.

Mark, YOU didn't read this article. It says, "worst" not "most". 26% > 19%. Thus LR drivers are worse (as a %) but not, necessarily, more than BMW drivers.

It appears that the reporter read the article wrongly. The article in the UK stated that 26% of Landy owners incurred speeding tickets. Only 19% of BMW owners are caught speeding. However they sell 10 times more BMW's than Landy's so the biggest volume of speeders by make is certainly not Land Rover.
