Pretoria - Gauteng motorists are to get a bit of relief because Sanral has recalculated the e-toll tariff increases to fix the maths.

Sanral reissued Gauteng e-toll tariffs yet again, after getting this year’s increases wrong twice.

“These corrections all comprise the lowering of the listed toll tariffs in Table 1 by between one and two cents and is the result of adjusted rounding rules that were applied to the toll tariff adjustments published on 26 February 2016,” said the latest version of the increases, gazetted on Friday. That’s the same day the increases came into effect.

E-toll collectors to recoup millions

This is the first tariff increase since e-tolls were implemented in December 2013.

The increases were initially gazetted on 15 February, detailing the six percent tariff hikes. Mistakes in that notice meant it was withdrawn and replaced with a revision on 26 February.

Friday’s gazette amends the notice of 26 February .
