Those that do higher-than-usual mileage will be pleased to know that Kia has essentially removed the mileage limit on its five-year warranty.

Granted, those that did less than 30 000km a year would have already been adequately covered by the brand's previous five-year/150 000km warranty and according to Kia the new unlimited mileage warranty comes with no "additional inclusions, provisions, limitations or exclusions" over the aforementioned previous warranty.

That's not to say that it covers absolutely everything though, with many of the smaller, quick-wearing items, such as brake pads, drive belts, spark plugs and clutch friction plates covered by a 1-year/20 000 warranty.

The unlimited warranty applies across the entire Kia range of passenger vehicles and K-Series light commercials.

"Taxis, sales representatives, longhaul transporters and other drivers who can easily exceed 30 000km a year will see great value in this offering," said Kia SA’s sales director Gary Scott. "Second-hand buyers will also benefit from knowing that the first owner's mileage has not impacted on their warranty cover."

Kia's roadside assistance programme, which previously applied for three years with unlimited mileage, has also been extended to five years, and remains unlimited.
