Los Angeles, California - Director Michael Bay was so pleased with the latest version of everybody's favourite Transformer, Bumblebee, that he couldn't resist tweeting this picture of the car as the fifth instalment of the franchise, The Last Knight, went into production.
Nearly all the Transformers are built around GM vehicles and Bumblebee in particular is based on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, customised by GM with a radical front splitter, bespoke bumpers, skirts, a special rear spoiler and tiny rear-view mirrors.
"Bee is back," he tweeted. "General Motors really got it done with this custom-built 2016 Camaro."
We have to agree.
The Last Knight, starring Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins and Josh DuHamel, is scheduled to open in the United States on 23 June 2017.
