Lambo readying four-seat Aventador

This, of course, is the Lamborghini Aventador coupe. Expect to see a spyder at Detroit and a 2+2 GT at Geneva.

Nobody at Lamborghini is saying anything - which, in the Italian motor industry where leaks are a way of life, is little short of a miracle - but there are rumours buzzing around the cybergarage that it will reveal a longer, more spacious and more comfortable Aventador GT at the Geneva motor show in March 2013 .

The 2+2 Aventador will probably have a longer wheelbase (safe bet, that) and a slightly more rounded shape to provide extra volume for two 'occasional' rear seats (for small, supple people, with double-jointed knees).

NO COMPROMISE ON POWER

It's also likely to have a different door layout, probably with small rear-hinged 'suicide' rear door panels similar to those on the Mazda RX-8.

While the chassis will be a little less uncompromising than that of the coupé, the 6.5-litre V12 is unlikely to lose any of its 520 kilowatts.

Lamborghini is not in the business of detuning engines.
