Rosslyn, Gauteng - Just in time for summer, Nissan has released a chilled-out special-edition version of its half-ton bakkie, the NP200 Ice, in cool blue or metallic silver, with exclusive brush-finished aluminium trim and custom-designed 15 inch alloy rims, special badging and dark-tinted windows.

The brushed finish includes the exclusive front nudge bar and the sports bar over the load bay, which is rubberised as standard to keep it looking cool no matter how hot the playtoys you ferry in it, and finished off with a fitted tonneau cover, as well a rear step plates, just below the Ice decals on the rear bumper.

The Ice is also the only NP200 model that comes with factory-fitted daytime running lights.

The cabin is trimmed with laminated combination leather upholstery and rubber floor-mats - dead easy to clean after a weekend out there having fun - and features a special sound system with hands-free Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, as well as USB port.

The Np200 Ice comes with either a 1.6-litre eight-valve four rated at 64kW and 128Nm, for R191 900, or a 1.5-litre dCi turbodiesel, for which Nissan quotes 63kW and 200Nm, at R204 900.

Either way, you get a six-year or 150 000km warranty thrown in, but the service plan will cost you a few dollars more.
