A brand new Israeli-Chinese car company called Qoros, linked to Chery, is about to hit the scene in Europe and it has some ambitious plans. Having recruited experts from around the world, the company is confident it can achieve European standards of quality.

Qoros has just revealed the wagon and crossover versions of its Qoros 3 family and they'll make their debut alongside the sedan at the Geneva motor show in March.

QOROS 3 SEDAN

This Chinese-built Corolla and Jetta rival will officially kick the brand into action when it goes on sale in China during the second half of this year and in Europe towards year-end.

Two 1.6-litre petrol engines, featuring variable valve timing, will be available at launch - a normally aspirated unit with 93kW and 155Nm and a turbocharged version that's good for 115kW and 210Nm.

Both motors are mated to a six-speed manual as standard and buyers can opt for a six-speed dual-clutch automated gearbox.

Qoris is also working on two direct injection engines, one of which is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbopetrol.

On the gadget front, all models will come with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring an advanced navigation system, extensive social networking connectivity and a function that allows owners to monitor their vehicle's health.

While there's nothing wild or radical about the sedan's design, it certainly looks elegant and if it lives up to all the hype it could just put China on the map as a serious producer of quality cars.

ESTATE CONCEPT

Clearly this one is not going to change much in its transition into a production model. Closely based on the Qoros 3 sedan, the Estate Concept features a versatile and adaptable interior, with numerous storage spaces.

CROSS HYBRID CONCEPT

The Qoros 3 Cross Hybrid Concept is appears to be a bag of clues about the company's future.

It not only previews the soon-to-be-launched hatchback bodystyle and a possible crossover variant but it also shows that Qoros is developing hybrid technology.

The car's drivetrain mates a front-mounted 1.2-litre petrol engine to a rear-mounted electric motor to create an all-wheel drive hybrid system.
