Uitenhage - Volkswagen has revved up its top-selling Polo Vivo with a special edition called the Storm, based on the 63kW 1.4i Trendline hatch.
The maker describes it as 'visually striking' which means its special features are all cosmetic - but they are quite striking.
It has a two-tone dashboard in grey and a special finish called ceramique, which is also applied to the air vents, centre console, lower parcel trays and the cup holder, dramatically highlighted by a dark grey roofliner.
The special three-tone seat fabric also tones in, with the bolsters matching the ceramique trim, while the steering wheel, gear-lever boot and handbrake cover are trimmed in black leather with grey contrast stitching.
Standard kit includes a six-speaker radio/CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, an SD card slot and a USB port.
The Storm rolls in on 15 inch alloys finished in black metallic, with front foglights in chrome bezels, glossy black side mirrors, black 'go-fast' stripes along the sides dual chrome-tipped tailpipes.
All of which will set you back R187 300 - R7800 more than the standard 1.4i Trendline - including VAT and CO2 tax.
