Although the unveiling of its successor is barely a week away, the Lamborghini Murcielago is going out with a bang thanks to tuning German company Edo Competition.

Based on the LP640, the Edo Competition LP750 brings the power output up to 750 PS, which translates to 552kW, and 740Nm of twist.

Claimed by Edo to be the quickest Murcielago in the world, the upgrades will see it screech from 0-100km/h in just 3.1 seconds, from 0-200km/h in just 9.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 365km/h.

To procure the extra urge, Edo carried out various mods to the existing 6.5-litre V12 motor, including a redesigned air intake system, ported cylinder heads, wilder cams and new intake manifolds. A more liberal exhaust system, complete with plasma-coated components, and a reprogrammed engine management system complete the performance package.

Edo Competition also offers the option of a conversion that transforms the Murcielago from an all-wheel drive vehicle into a rear-wheel drive, saving 40kg in the process.

Finally, the LP750 also gets a body kit that helps with downforce at high speed, and its road-hugging cause is furthered by new Michelin footwear, with front tyres measuring 265/35 ZR 18 and rear tyres 345/30 ZR 19.
