The new Mercedes CLS 63 AMG is already a monster saloon in its own right but, as is the case with virtually every high performance German machine, there's always a tuning company that feels more is needed.

In this case, VÄTH of Bavaria decided to tinker under the bonnet of the CLS 63, consequently increasing maximum power of its biturbo V8 from 386kW to 484kW and torque from 700Nm to 960Nm.

With more power on hand than even Merc's own biturbo V12 motor, the VÄTH CLS 63 is said to pelt from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and from 0-200km/h in 12.0s. With the top speed limiter also removed, the Merc now reaches a top speed of 325km/h.

To achieve these output gains, VÄTH engineers modified the engine electronics, optimized the intercooler and threw in a sports exhaust system.

The suspension system has been modified in accordance, with lowered springs and electronic adjustment of the rear axle and an upgraded braking system is also offered.

Depending on how much the customer wants to fork out, a raft of styling mods are also on the menu, including 20-inch rims, an aerodynamic front spoiler, boot lid spoiler and a rear diffuser with fins and underfloor extension.

Much the same applies to the interior, with the option of black carbon inlays, a 360km/h speedo and a sportier steering wheel.
