Audi’s cocky LeMans Porsche ‘welcome’

Motorsport

Zuffenhausen, Germany - Audi, which has dominated the classic Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race in the modern era much as Porsche did in the 1970s, is not above a bit of one-upmanship - especially when it comes to its long-time competition rival and now sister company over in Stuttgart.

So, as the buzz amps up around Porsche's return to Le Mans after an absence of 16 years with the brand-new 919 hybrid, Audi sends an R18 e-tron quattro down the road from Ingolstadt to Porsche headquarters to deliver a very special greeting.

Whether the two teams will still be as polite when the flag drops at Le Mans on 14 June remains to be seen.
