Johannesburg - This weekend's Gauteng Motor Show - on at the Rock Raceway in Brakpan from Friday 25 July to Sunday 27 July, will be a whole lot more than just a static showcase for hundreds of new models, custom creations and motorsport icons.

Show visitors can expect mind-blowing two-wheeled trick riding in The Red Bull X-Fighters Jam Zone as Nick de Wit, South Africa's top freestyle motocross rider, warms up for the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour's final South African stop at the Union Building in Pretoria on 23 August, where he will compete against the best freestyle motocross riders on the planet in front of a home crowd. .

There will be live freestyle motocross action on Saturday at 11am and 2pm, and again on Sunday at 10.30am and 2pm.

The star of the Mastercraft Tools stand, however, will be a bakkie - not just any bakkie, but the Toyota Hilux 4x4 that took Giniel de Villiers and navigator Dirk von Zitzewitz to fourth overall in the 2014 Dakar Rally.

Making lots of noise and even more tyre smoke on the tar arena will be the highlight of the show, the sideways samurai of the SA SupaDrift series - mirrored by a miniature version of the same action with a variety of races for radio-controlled drifters spotlighting every level of driver from beginners to pros.
