Johannesburg - Motorsport SA on Friday said it was both shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of well-known motorsport journalist Steve Wicks.
“Steve was an ever present figure at motorsport events and his passion for the sport seemed without limits,” MSA said in a statement.
“MSA's sincere condolences to Steve's family and many friends.
“Motorsport will not be the same without him and he will be sorely missed.”
Wicks was killed on Thursday in Edenvale, Johannesburg, when a truck knocked him off his mountain bike.
The SA Guild of Motoring Journalists said in a tribute: “Those who knew Steve will miss him sorely and those who met him will not forget him.
“While he sometimes took his guidance from a very distant drummer, his sincerity and passion were uncontested and a remarkable ability to see things in a light that the rest of us were blind to, continued to surprise those who spent time with him.”
