The penultimate round of the SA SupaDrift Series will be run on 28 September in the parking area of the Mmabatho Stadium in Mahikeng - the first time this year that the top drifters from around the country compete in NorthWest Province.
Wade van Zummeren from the Eastern Cape will defend his 2011 and 2012 SupaDrift titles against drivers such as the Northern Cape's Otto Graven, Gauteng's Jason Webb and Paolo Gouviea from KwaZulu-Natal, in a packed field of more than 30 entrants.
Supadrift 2013 is the first national drift championship recognised by Motorsport South Africa and the prospect of being officially crowned SA Champion Drifter has set the series alight, with the drivers focused on piling up valuable points in Mahikeng before heading to the season finale in Durban in November.
On the day an open pit lane will give visitors an-all access pass to view SA's top racing machines up close and personal, including modified machines such as a Nissan Sylvia S15 with a 2JZ engine, a BMW E30 with a 4.5-litre Lexus V* under its bonnet and the purpose-built RAM Mustang drift car.
The gates open at 9am, and entrance will be R50 for adults, R20 for children; more details from the Supadrift website.
