Baldwin Park, California - Japanese maker Falken specialises in high-performance sports and competition tyres - but it's less well-known that the company, based in Kobe, Japan, also makes miniature tyres for radio-controlled racing cars.

It even produces purpose-built 26mm tyres for 1:10 scale radio-controlled drifting series, with spectacular results.

Recently Falken, together with HPI Racing, My Trick RC and Super G Drift Arena, put together a three-minute, four-car tandem drifting video featuring Akihito Watamase, Katsumi Kuwakino, Gavin Roberts and Ko Aihara, that's every bit as mind-blowing as the real thing - especially as the video was shot at night, with flashing strobes to add to the effect, but which must have made it just that much more challenging for the drivers.

The cars are:

An HPI 1:10 scale model Toyota AE86 with a D/Run Free body kit, Type A body tuner kit and Type E GT wing set, running Work rims with 6mm front and 9mm rear offset.

An HPI 1:10 scale model Mazda RX-7 with an FD3S Aero body kit and Type E GT wing set, running Dai Yoshihara Champion rims with 6mm front and rear offset.

An HPI 1:10 scale model Nissan Silvia S15 with a Type A body tuner kit and Type C GT wing set, running Work rims with 6mm front and 9mm rear offset.

An HPI 1:10 scale model WELD Toyota JZX100 Mark 2 with a Type A body tuner kit and Type E GT wing set, running Volk TE37 rims with 3mm front and 6mm rear offset.

All four cars in the video are running on 26mm Falken Azenis RTK615K T-Drift tyres.
