Kampala -

Wreckage from one of a pair of Ugandan helicopters that went missing this week have been found in Kenya, a military spokesman said on Tuesday, though one helicopter and 14 soldiers are still missing.

The helicopters disappeared on Sunday while en route to Somalia to bolster African Union (AU) forces fighting Islamist militia al-Shabaab.

Seven soldiers were rescued from the two helicopters that crash-landed due to bad weather in the jungles on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Uganda military spokesman Felix Kulayigye told dpa.

“There are 14 people still missing and a search is going on to locate where they are,” Kulayigye said by telephone.

The wreckage were reportedly spotted by wildlife official, Kenyan media reported.
