Jos, Nigeria - At least 18 people were killed when gunmen raided a village in the northern Nigerian state of Kaduna overnight, a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the latest in a string of violent attacks that have racked Africa's most populous country.

The gunmen stormed the village in the Sanga local government area in the southern part of the state, local police spokesman Aminu Lawan told Reuters.
