Abidjan -

Laurent Akoun, secretary general of the party of Ivory Coast's former president Laurent Gbagbo, the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), was arrested Sunday, said a party and a security source.

“Laurent Akoun was arrested by the police in the early afternoon in Adzope,” said party president Sylvain Miaka Oureto, referring to a town 160 kilometres north of Abidjan. A security source confirmed the report. - Sapa-AFP
