Nairobi, Kenya - An explosion at an airport in Kenya's capital wounded at least two people on Sunday and prompted authorities to seal off air traffic, witnesses said.

At least two people were evacuated by ambulance from the Wilson Airport, witnesses said, refusing to be identified for fear of losing their jobs.

An Associated Press reporter saw fire fighters at the scene, where part of the roof at the airport's departure lounge was destroyed.

Both the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and Kenya Airports Authority refused to confirm the reports of an explosion or to comment. Each referred reporters' questions to the other agency.

Police also could not immediately be reached for comment. - Sapa-AP
