A group of journalists, concerned citizens and friends of South African photographer, Anton Hammerl, who is being held by Gaddafi's loyalists in Libya, will stage demonstrations on Wednesday, The New Age reported.

The demonstrations to be held outside Parliament in Cape Town and at the Hyde Park Corner in Johannesburg at noon will be in a bid to draw attention to Hammerl's plight.

About 1088 members of the Free Photographer Anton Hammerl Facebook page are expected to take to the streets. - Sapa
