Johannesburg - The department of arts and culture has signed an agreement with Angola to co-operate in the field of arts, culture and heritage, it said on Thursday.
It was part of the implementation of a joint commission of co-operation signed by the countries' presidents, the department said in a statement.
The agreement included joint projects and exchange programmes between the National Academy of Creative Arts in SA and the Institute of Arts in Angola.
The countries agreed to develop a memorandum of understanding for heritage and historical sites, such as Freedom Park in South Africa and the Augustino Neto and the Cuito Cuanavale memorials in Angola.
Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile's three-day visit to Angola ended on Tuesday.
