Khartoum - Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir on Monday swore in two vice-presidents and new members of his reshuffled cabinet, after urgent calls for reform in the 24-year-old regime.

Other members of his cabinet remain unchanged, including Defence Minister Abdelrahim Mohammed Hussein and Foreign Minister Ali Karti.

The new government members are:

- First Vice-President, Lieut. Gen. Bakri Hassan Saleh

- Vice-President, Hassabo Mohammed Abdel Rahman

- Assistant to the President, Ibrahim Ghandour

The new cabinet ministers are:

- Presidential Affairs, Salaheddin Wansi Mohammed Khair

- Interior, Abdel Wahid Yousif Ibrahim (formerly industry minister)

- Finance, Badereldien Mahmoud

- Culture, al-Tayeb Hassan Badawi

- Agriculture, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamed (moves from interior)

- Industry, al-Semaih al-Siddiq al-Nur

- Oil, Makawi Mohammed Awad

- Water Resources and Electricity, Muattaz Musa Abdallah Salim

- Mining, Ahmed Mohammed Saddiq al-Karrouri

- Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sumaya Mohammed Ahmed Abu-Kashawa

- Science and Communication, Tahani Abdallah Attiya

- Federal Government Bureau, Farah Mustafa Abdallah
