Addis Ababa -

Police in Ethiopia have arrested two people in connection with the murder of an Austrian tourist on a rafting trip, a government official said on Friday.

The 27-year old tourist and three Austrian companions were attacked at their campsite on the Blue Nile on Sunday morning, in an apparent robbery. The other tourists were not harmed.

An Ethiopian government official, who declined to be named, said two people were arrested and found in possession of the Austrian's belongings. A third person, believed to be the shooter, is still at large.

The incident occurred nearly one year after five foreign tourists, including an Austrian, were killed and others were kidnapped by gunmen in north-east Ethiopia. - Sapa-dpa
