London - British Prime Minister David Cameron says the government's emergency committee has discussed the case of a British woman kidnapped from a Kenyan beach resort after her husband was murdered.

Cameron told lawmakers on Wednesday that the committee known as COBRA met to discuss the case of David and Judith Tebbutt, who were attacked over the weekend at the resort near the Somali border. COBRA usually meets to discuss events of national importance.

Some London police officers have flown to Kenya to help with investigations. Kenyan police have arrested one Kenyan suspect over the case. Local officials say the suspect has links with Somalia and the al-Shabab militia group that has sworn allegiance to al-Qaida. - Sapa-AP
