Voting in Tunisia's presidential election in volatile areas near the border with Algeria is to start two hours behind schedule, the election commission says.

“This delay is due to security reasons as these areas are the front lines in confrontation with terrorist elements holding themselves up in mountains along the western border,” the commission says.

Polling stations in these areas are to open at 10 am (09.00 GMT) while the voting in other areas across Tunisia started at 8 am as scheduled, according to the commission. - Sapa-dpa
