Johannesburg - South African President Jacob Zuma will attend an African Union Peace and Security Council meeting in Addis Ababa on Tuesday, the presidency said.

The AU high-level panel for the resolution of the Ivory Coast's post-election crisis was due to present a report at the meeting.

“The panel was directed to conclude its work by the end of February and report back to the AU Peace and Security Council.”

The panel is made up of the leaders of Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, South Africa and Tanzania.

The Ivory Coast was plunged into a violent political crisis when president Laurent Gbagbo refused to cede power to Alassane Ouattara following a disputed poll in November last year. - Sapa
