Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma will attend the Great Lakes Region Summit in Angola which starts on Wednesday, the presidency said.

The Fifth Ordinary Summit of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) is expected to discuss peace, stability and development in the region, with a focus on the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan, the presidency said in a statement on Monday.

The summit, to be held in Luanda, will be chaired by Angolan president Eduardo dos Santos.

The ICGLR members are Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Zambia.
