Activists from the Ukrainian female rights organization "Femen" held a protest rally on a balcony of a building on the city main street Kreschatik in Kiev.
The women protested against the initiative of the city authorities to make local residents, who live less than 1500 metres away from the Olympic stadium, which will host matches of Euro 2012, tidy up their balconies and prohibit people from appearing on their balconies while wearing underclothing. The officials’ initiative is aimed at upgrading the territory and decorating the buildings, which will be restored and illuminated, in the central part of the capital as part of preparations for the 2012 European soccer championship, according to local media. The placard reads "Balconies to people".
