In this day and age, people are constantly open to new ideas, preferences and lifestyle.

However, after a short documentary on “human puppies” that was recently aired on British TV, people took to social media to voice their opinions.

At times, there were harsh words that makes one wonder if their bite is as bad their bark.

According to the documentary, approximately 10 000 people in Britain alone take part in the pet play.

These 'human puppies' don't only dress up as dogs but act like them. They also want doggy treats and would appreciate belly rubs as much as a dog would.

Do you think living as a human is expensive? One human pup has spent over £4000 (approximately R92 000) over the past ten years on his puppy life. While we enjoy sleeping on a bed at the end of the day, he prefers a dog training crate, in case you were wondering.

Despite public opinion, being a human puppy has nothing to do with sexual fetishes. “It is a form of escapism”, said a man who looks after these human pups.

According to one pup, there is a big difference between human life and the pup life. “I don't want to be in the public eye. But in my pup life, I want to be the centre of attention”.

Some might call it weird, whereas others take the, 'Its your life, you do you' approach, but human puppies would like to be accepted as part of the community. After all, they are still human... aren’t they?
