Vienna - Austrian police have clocked an Italian man driving a Maserati sports car at 239 kilometres per hour on a motorway some 40 kilometres northeast of Vienna.

The driver, who was headed toward the city of Brno in the Czech Republic, was stopped by the officers on Friday, forced to pay a 1,000 euro (about R10 500) bond on the spot and given a court summons. - Sapa-AFP
