A Kenyan mother who gave birth to twin boys on Wednesday has named her newborn children after the US president re-elect and his defeated rival.

Millicent Owuor, 20, delivered her twins, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, at a district hospital in the town of Siayal, just a stone’s throw away from Obama’s ancestral home village of Kogelo where celebrations were going on, according to Kenya’s The Standard newspaper.

A joyful Owuor posed for photographers holding her bundles of joy, with Barack wrapped in white and Mitt in navy blue.

According to the report, she said she had named her twins after the winning and losing presidential candidates in order to remember the day of the election. - IOL
