Was that a double entendre, Mr President? At a fundraiser in Los Angeles, Barack Obama made a joke that some have interpreted as referring to matters best left in the bedroom.
The President was talking about how his wife, Michelle, was better at push-ups than him.
‘Michelle outdoes me in push-ups as well,’ he is reported to have said, having commented that she had taken some criticism on her technique ‘because she doesn’t go all the way down’. The report then comments that he let the line hang, ‘naughtily, provoking laughter from the crowd’.
Mr Obama was referring to his wife’s appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in February, in which the First Lady challenged Miss DeGeneres to a push-up contest. Mrs Obama won.
The White House has not commented on whether Mr Obama went off-script and bungled the joke or if a reporter misquoted him. - Daily Mail
