The barking from a dog at an Irish airport on Thursday might just have been an attempt to say: “This is a bit cold for Arizona, isn't it?” United Airlines on Sunday night apologised for a mix-up which saw staff put an English springer spaniel onto a flight from New Jersey to Shannon, when the dog was actually meant to be on board a domestic flight to Phoenix. Six-year-old Hendrix's transatlantic trip left owner Meredith Grant feeling like she had been “punched in the stomach” before they were reunited 24 hours after he first left the United States. She received a full refund. - The Independent on Sunday
