Warsaw - A Polish man could face up to 500 zloty ($140) in fines for throwing his TV out the window after Russia scored a goal in their game against Poland in the Euro 2012 football tournament, local media reported on Wednesday.

The man from Sosnowiec, southern Poland, threw his TV out his third-floor window when Poland's bitter rival Russia scored the first goal of the match, reported TVN 24.

Nobody was injured when the TV crashed to the ground, police said.

Police added that the man was under the influence of alcohol.

The man was taken to a sobering station, and he did not see Poland score the equaliser in the second half of the match. - Sapa-dpa
