Johannesburg - A total of 206 people were arrested in Soweto over the weekend for various crimes, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
They were taken into custody during an operation on Saturday and Sunday, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.
Twenty-six were arrested for drunken driving, 30 for dealing in drugs, 18 for possession of dagga, and eight for possession of hijacked vehicles.
Others were arrested for theft, murder and rape, said Makhubela.
They would appear in various courts in Soweto on Monday.
