Tonga - The Tonga Regional Court on Thursday sentenced a Mpumalanga man to 25 years in jail for raping a girl and a woman.

Isaac Lucky Ndlovu, 27, of the Bhodlindlala section of Mangweni village near the Swazi and Mozambican border, pleaded guilty to two rape charges this week after DNA evidence against him was presented, a Sapa correspondent reported.

“Rapists are very dangerous to the community and they have to be removed from society as a whole,” said Magistrate Edgar Moletsane.

Moletsane said rape victims lost their self-esteem while others had to deal with suicidal thoughts and exposure to life-threatening sexually transmitted infections such as HIV/Aids.

Ndlovu was arrested on January 15, 2011, after raping a 26-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl at different households in one night.
