Four people have been arrested in Mmabatho for the murder of the wife of one of the men, North West police said on Tuesday.

Two women, aged 48 and 42, and two men, aged 25 and 55, were arrested over the Easter weekend, said Brigadier Thulani Ngubane.

Ketlagomang Ivy Molefe, 50, was reported missing by her husband on March 15 when she did not arrive home from work the day before.

Ngubane said police were still searching for her body. However, one of the suspects had admitted to using his vehicle in the murder and it was recovered with blood stains in it on Friday.

Police were waiting for the forensic results to confirm if the blood stains matched Molefe. At the time she went missing she was employed at the provincial department of finance.

The four were arrested over the Easter weekend and were expected to appear in the Mmabatho Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. – Sapa
