The trial of four policemen charged with extorting money from a Ghanaian man at OR Tambo International Airport was postponed by the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, February 07, 2012.

They would be back in court on February 27, said Colonel Vish Naidoo.

At their last appearance on January 17, Sergeant Tiisetzo Hector Kekwe, 34, and constables Khulani Abby Lalulekhe, 29, Onkaetse Buffalo Loedeo, 37, and William Matabal Mahoro, 32, were granted bail of R1000 each.

The four stopped the Ghanaian man in the airport's international arrivals hall on New Year's Day and asked him to produce an invitation to South Africa.

He showed them his passport and visa and said he did not need a letter of invitation.

The policemen then allegedly demanded US100 (about R804) from him and threatened him with deportation. - Sapa
