A 67-year-old woman accused of killing her husband and daughter appeared in the Lichtenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday, North West police said.

Captain Tselane Nkala said the case was postponed until June 25, for a bail application. The woman would remain in police custody until then.

The woman was arrested after confessing to the murders on Saturday.

Nkala said she reported her 17-year-old daughter was missing in 2009.

Police became aware of the husband's absence when his family went searching for him after he disappeared in Tlhabologang last year.

Nkala said the woman told the police she had buried the two under a bed because she did not have the money to pay for their funerals. - Sapa
