Durban - The case against a man accused of killing a KwaZulu-Natal tuckshop owner and her five children was postponed in the Durban High Court on Monday to allow his legal team to obtain a psychological report.
National Prosecuting Authority spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said the case against 25-year-old Tshepang Mokhali had been postponed to October 30.
Last month he told Judge Nompumelelo Radebe that he was stressed.
She then ordered that he see a doctor and a medical report be handed to her.
Mokhali allegedly shot dead his relatives Maselina Leneah, 38, and her five children, aged between three and 14, in the Mzinyathi area of Inanda, near Durban, in December 2012.
He allegedly fled to Lesotho and was arrested after he visited a relative in Matatiele, in the Eastern Cape, on January 17.
“It is alleged that he robbed the family, who are his relatives, and killed them to cover up the robbery,” Colonel Jay Naicker said at the time.
