Mdantsane, Eastern Cape - Two men were arrested in Mdantsane after being found in possession of stolen goods worth R100 000 on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said.

The men, aged 26 and 38, were believed to be involved in a syndicate stealing from furniture stores in King William's Town and surrounding areas, Lt Nkosikho Mzuku said.

They allegedly used stolen IDs and payslips to buy furniture on account.

Their arrests came after furniture stores in King William's Town opened numerous cases with the police.

Double beds, dressing tables, plasma television sets, refrigerators and music systems were among the items recovered at a house in Mdantsane.

The two were expected to appear in the King William's Town Magistrate's Court on Wednesday to face charges of fraud and possession of suspected stolen property. - Sapa
