Durban - A woman accused of being in possession of cocaine with a street value of more than R540 000 appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court in Durban on Monday.

Jo-Anne Farrell, 53, would be back in court on February 24 for a bail application, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

Farrell was arrested at King Shaka International Airport on Sunday.

Police received information that a passenger from Dubai had drugs. When the woman was searched, police found cocaine wrapped in foil and strapped to her body. The cocaine weighed 1.16kg.
