Waterval – Police in Waterval near Makhado have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman, Limpopo police said on Saturday.
It was alleged that the woman was sleeping in the early hours of Saturday, and at about 3.30am the suspect broke her door down, entered the house, threatened her, and raped her, Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
"After this ordeal, the suspect fell asleep [and] the victim escaped and called the police. The police reacted swiftly and found the suspect still asleep and arrested him."
The man would appear in the Waterval Magistrate's Court on Monday for housebreaking and rape. Police investigations were continuing, Ngoepe said.
