Alleged speedster due in court

Johannesburg - A 39-year-old man was arrested in the early hours on Sunday morning for speeding on the N1 in Midrand, according to Johannesburg metro police.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the suspect was caught driving his BMW 5 series at 211km/h in a 120km/h zone.

“He told officers that he was rushing home in Centurion and was from a night club in Sandton,” Minnaar said.

The man was released on R1 500 bail.

He would appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
