Durban - AmaZulu goalkeeper Mandlakayise Sangweni was granted bail of R4000 by the Ngwelezane Magistrate's Court, in KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said.

Sangweni, 26, was released on bail on condition that he relocate to Johannesburg and not return to the area where he allegedly shot his uncle in December, said NPA spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson-Kara.

She said Sangweni was also ordered not to interfere with witnesses.

The case was postponed until February 18.

The Star newspaper reported that Nono Sangweni, the daughter of the wounded 66-year-old man, Vusumuzi, said an argument about witchcraft caused the altercation.

Mandlakayise Sangweni is the brother of Orlando Pirates' defender Siyabonga Sangweni. His other brother Thamsanqa Sangweni plays for Mamelodi Sundowns. -Sapa
