Johannesburg -

A second man suspected of involvement in the murder of University of Johannesburg Professor Carl Mischke has been arrested.

The man was detained on Saturday, two days after another 29-year-old was arrested for the same crime in Kempton Park.

Due to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today, they will be accompanied by two others caught stripping Mischke’s stolen car on Friday.

Mischke, 47, was found face down on his bed in a pool of blood last Monday after having allegedly invited in his killer or killers. He was discovered by his domestic worker last Monday morning.

The Norwood resident’s death resembled the murders of eight other murders of gay men across Gauteng, and police confirmed last week that his death will be investigated with theirs by a provincial task team.

On Thursday, the police caught a 29-year-old man in possession of Mischke’s clothing in Kempton Park and set out to make more arrests.

A day later, they caught two people stripping the professor’s car.
