Johannesburg - Johannesburg metro police officers shot dead a man wielding a gun at a roadblock on Sunday, city authorities said.
Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the man ran past a roadblock in Jeppe Street, holding a gun in his hand.
“Officers ordered him to stop... Instead he fired a shot at them... They again ordered him to stop and he fired again. Officers returned fire and he was killed.”
Minnaar said the man was alleged to have been involved in an armed robbery. - Sapa
