Cape Town - Three suspects have been arrested for robbing a policewoman and a shop nearby, Western Cape police said on Saturday.
The policewoman was walking to a shop on the corner of Voortrekker and Weiner Road, Goodwood, Cape Town, at about 9pm on Friday night, SA Police Service spokeswoman Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said in a statement.
“According to the reports the police constable was approached by three suspects who robbed her of her police issue firearm and her wedding ring,” she said.
The suspects then entered and robbed the shop, after which they fled the scene. Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of all three suspects, aged 23, 24, and 29.
Some of the stolen items were recovered, but the firearm was yet to be found. No injuries were reported.
The suspects were expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate's Court once they had been charged, Rwexana said.
